Lufthansa makes adjustment to fuel surcharge
Prices of crude oil have risen by more than 50 per cent since December 2008, resulting in higher fuel procurement costs for Lufthansa. Lufthansa expands in Africa
Lufthansa is expanding its services in West and Central Africa and adding another new destination to its network. Air Dolomiti takes delivery of first Embraer 195
The first Embraer 195 type aircraft has officially been handed over to Air Dolomiti. The event in São José dos Campos, the headquarters of Embraer in Brazil, marked the beginning of delivery of a total of 30 aircraft of the 190 family to the Lufthansa Group by the end of 2011. The modern and economically highly-efficient regional aircraft were ordered from the Brazilian manufacturer by Lufthansa in June 2007.
Lufthansa Italia cleared for take-off
The first scheduled service to be operated by the new Lufthansa Italia airline is scheduled for take-off at 6.15 hours on 2 February 2009. The maiden LH1790 flight is from Milan to Barcelona. A second flight, LH1770, will take off for Paris 35 minutes later. Customers from Milan and the Lombardy region will in future have a choice of eight new non-stop connections within Europe from Malpensa.
