airBaltic launches new routes for summer
11 May 2009
The Latvian airline airBaltic has announced three new destinations for the summer season in 2009 – Geneva (Switzerland), Turku (Finland), and Kaunas (Lithuania).
Passengers who choose the new airBaltic routes will enjoy excellent transit connections via the Latvian capital city of Riga to and from more than 50 destinations in Western Europe, the CIS and the Mediterranean region.
airBaltic has introduced a total of seven new destinations this year. In addition to the aforementioned three, flights are also offered to Tromso (Norway), Linkoping (Sweden), Palanga (Lithuania), and Dushanbe (Tadzhikistan).
Tero Taskila, airBaltic’s newly appointed chief commercial officer: "Turku and Kaunas will strengthen our Scandinavian and Baltic network of routes. Turku is our fifth destination in Finland, and Kaunas is our third one in Lithuania. These routes will cater for those airBaltic passengers who increasingly are using Rīga as a transit city for destinations such as Milan, Berlin, Paris, Venice, Minsk, Moscow, and others.
“We are also excited to add a second destination in Switzerland. Geneva is an attractive destination for businesses and vacationers. New destinations, our newly designed network, improved punctuality, our attractive fares, and our continuously updated onboard products are all offered so as to treat our customers well this summer."
Lowest available fares are available to book online at airbaltic.com.
