XPart continues worldwide MG Rover parts availability

As XPart celebrates its fifth anniversary on 27th August 2009, motor traders around the globe are still able to service and repair MG Rover cars using genuine parts, thanks to the company’s continuing efforts to ensure a steady supply of parts in the wake of the manufacturer’s collapse in April 2005. Having acquired the MG Rover parts business in August 2004, XPart has worked tirelessly to maintain high levels of availability across all major product groups, helping to provide business continuity for over 700 MG Rover dealers worldwide and establishing a strong global network of importers, wholesalers and MG Rover specialist AutoService centres, 250 of whom are based in the UK.


Top MG specialists represent XPart at MGLive!

As MG owners from across the globe gear up for the biggest event in the MG calendar, members of XPart’s MG and Rover specialist network are showing their full support of MGLive! with race entries and a strong trade presence. Dreadnought Garage, Brown & Gammons, Luffield Cars and Rimmer Bros will all be represented at the event, together with Team Lunar Racing, an all-student race team supported by XPart. Now in its 59th year, the three-day MG celebration is packed with new features and is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors to the Silverstone Circuit.


MG announces participation in scrappage scheme

MG Motor UK Ltd is delighted to announce its participation in the new Car and Van scrappage scheme announced by the Government in the recent budget. Launching across the UK on 18th May, qualifying customers can expect a reduction of £2,000 against the list price of a brand new MG TF under the scheme with £1,000 coming from the Government matched by £1,000 from MG Motor UK Limited directly.


Two new MGs for Spring & Summer 2009

This summer, two new MGs are being launched to join the highly successful MG TF LE500; the affordable MG TF 135 and a unique new MG that is being produced to mark the 85th Anniversary of the brand, the MG TF 85th Anniversary.


Price set for MG TF LE500

With deliveries of the new MG TF Limited Edition due to commence in September, NAC MG UK Ltd have today, 2nd July 2008, set the price of this new sportscar at £16,399 on the road.


Website helps owners identify and locate nearest service specialist

MG Rover and New Mini owners can now find details of their nearest specialist XPart service and repair provider more easily than ever before, following the launch of an expanded and updated website, xpart.com . The site’s improved design incorporates a new centre locator, which allows visitors to search for their nearest MG Rover specialist, New Mini specialist, or MG Rover parts distributor. Once identified, the site provides comprehensive directions and maps.


MG TF LE500 launch date announced

MG has announced that production of the TF LE500 sportscar will commence at their Longbridge plant in Birmingham at the beginning of August, with the first cars delivered to showrooms in September.


Ten percent power boost for MG Rover diesels

Owners of diesel powered Rover 75 and MG ZT models can now boost their engine’s performance by more than 10 percent with the relaunch of XPart’s XPower diesel upgrade. The enhancement, which is available through XPart’s 240-strong AutoService centre network, raises power by 15bhp, reducing the 0-60mph time by up to ten percent. Towing capability is also improved with a 15 percent increase in torque across a wide rev range.


MG franchise dealer network in UK is expanding fast

NAC MG (UK) Ltd has continued to see a high level of demand by retailers wishing to join its new network. Over the past few months, MG has invited applications from businesses keen to become franchised retailers, and the huge response signals a very encouraging future for the eagerly-awaited new MG TF LE 500 sportscar.


Genuine parts still available for MG Rover cars

MG Rover owners still have access to genuine parts and affordable, specialist servicing as XPart continues to ensure the ongoing supply of MG Rover parts four years after the closure of the MG Rover factory. By working closely with new owners of the MG Rover brand, the Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC), XPart has achieved a smooth supply of parts manufactured from the original MG Rover tooling at the NAC MG factory in Nanjing, China, and has also maintained supply agreements with original MG Rover parts suppliers, allowing its nationwide network of MG Rover wholesalers and AutoService centres to offer high quality parts and servicing to the UK’s one million MG Rover owners.


£2.7M move by SMTC strengthens MG’s Longbridge base

MG Motor UK Limited and the SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre (SMTC UK) are now sharing the Longbridge site as the engineering and R&D company has completed a move from its Leamington offices into new premises, on the site of the MG factory on Lowhill Lane.


Silverstone circuit to host MGLive! on 10th to 12th July 2009

The MG Car Club, has announced MGLive!, the new name for its traditional Silverstone International meeting. For the 59th anniversary of the event the Club has created a new action packed event with a range of new features, including an enhanced live arena, to make it the biggest and best event on the MG calendar.


MG TF LE500 full VAT reduction

MG UK is implementing the full 2.5% VAT reduction on the TF LE500 from 1st December 2008. The TF LE500 is now priced at £16,055 following the Government’s announcement to cut VAT from 17.5% to 15%.


High quality parts support for new MG owners

Owners of new MG-TFs can look forward to high-quality aftersales support, following an agreement between NAC MG UK Ltd and Caterpillar Logistics Services (UK) Ltd. The deal will see XPart, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Logistics Services, manage the supply and distribution of genuine replacement parts for the new MG TF cars to NAC MG’s network of 55 new UK dealers.
