Kia plays its part in New Car Code
28 April 2009
With an industry-leading seven year warranty on its European-built cars Kia Motors is playing its full part in the motor industry’s self-regulation scheme known as The Motor Industry Code of Practice for New Cars.
Originally launched in 2004 the New Car Code has now come under the umbrella of the industry body for consumer protection – Motor Codes Ltd., and this organisation is the first in any industry to have received “Stage Two” approval from the Office of Fair Trading.
Along with other vehicle manufacturers Kia confirms its promises made under its new car warranty to customers as part of the New Car Code.
All Kia products benefit from the minimum of a three year, unlimited mileage warranty but over the last three years has been significantly up-grading its cover and has committed, with the introduction of new models, to offer all future Kia customers either a five year or a seven year warranty – according to build location.
All products built in Korea will benefit from a five year unlimited mileage warranty and those models built at its production facility in Zilina, Slovakia get even better coverage – a fully transferable seven year bumper-to-bumper warranty package.
So, as Kevin Todd, Kia’s Customer Support and Service Development Manager commented: “It only makes sense for us to be fully committed to the New Car Code and to use it as further evidence of our commitment to delivering a first class experience to our customers.
“The New Car Code not only confirms the promises we make in our warranties but also provides a self-regulating code of practice to help deliver our intention to operate as a responsible business and have in place speedy and cost-effective dispute resolution services should a disagreement arise,” he added.
