22 January 2009
Satellite and radio communications specialist Thrane & Thrane has unveiled the latest generation of its highly regarded SAILOR VHF series.
Due on sale mid 2009, the new SAILOR 6210 VHF, SAILOR 6215 VHF DSC Class D and FCC approved SAILOR 6216 VHF DSC Class D build on the quality and performance that has made SAILOR the most respected providers of VHF equipment. These new VHFs are specially designed and developed to the Fishing and Work Boat segments, offering these professional users all the strong features and performance expected from a SAILOR VHF.
Designed with ease-of-use in mind, the SAILOR 6210 VHF, SAILOR 6215 VHF DSC Class D and FCC approved SAILOR 6216 VHF DSC Class D belong at the helm of any vessel crewed by professionals. Features include:
-Full waterproof to IPx8
-Replay
-Easy to read display with red backlight and dimming
-High quality, powerful loudspeaker
-Up to 2 additional handsets/control speaker mics
-Interfaces for AIS output and optional loud hailer
-DW, Tri-watch and scanning
The robust, solid qualities of the new SAILOR VHF series are apparent immediately. A large display with red backlight protects the user’s night vision and makes it easy to read the intuitive menu. The tactile feel of the buttons and knobs provides easy operation, whilst the high quality and powerful loudspeaker ensures good sound quality, even in noisy environments. The replay functionality that was first introduced by SAILOR is also included. This function allows the user to clarify received information and ensures that it is not lost or ignored if the user was occupied in other operations, therefore improving vessel safety.
All three radios can automatically receive AIS signals and an interface enables connection to a PC or chart-plotter. Additionally, a built in interface and functionality for loud hailer and fog horn come as standard.
“SAILOR VHF has become synonymous with performance and reliability. Users understand that SAILOR radios are built to last and work without fault even with continuous use over years, if not decades,” comments Casper Jensen, Director, Maritime Global Marketing, Thrane & Thrane. “With this high performance and reliability as a foundation for the SAILOR 6210, SAILOR 6215 and SAILOR 6216, we are dedicated to ensuring the availability of the next generation of SAILOR VHF by offering these clearly premium products at attractive prices.
The proven performance and unrivalled solid build quality that makes SAILOR the VHF of choice for the discerning professional user have been passed on to the new SAILOR VHF radios. Building on the performance of the last generation of SAILOR VHF, the SAILOR 6210, SAILOR 6215 and SAILOR 6216 will still be providing reliable operation on the bridge of professional vessels decades from now.
